Know all men by these presents that as James Freeman and Joseph Nelson are held and
firmly bound to his Excellency Benjamin Harrison, Esq., Governor of Virginia, in the sum
of fifty pounds to which __________well and truly do bind ourselves and each of us
and each of our heirs, Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by those
present sealed with our seals and dated this 26th day of March 1782. The condition of the
above obligation is such that Whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be
solumnized between the above bound James Freeman and Margaret Williams for which a
license hath ____. Now if there be no lawful cause to abolish the said intended marriage
then the above obligation to be void. Sealed and delivered in presence of ____Brooke.
