This Indenture made the thirtieth day of October Eighteen Hundred and Seventeen
between John Freeman Sr. late of Madison County Kentucky now of Culpeper County State
of Virginia which John is legally authorized by a power of Attorney from Nathaniel Freeman
which Nathaniel is one of the legal representatives of James Freeman Deceased.
Late of Fauquier County State of Virginia of the one part and William C. Freeman of the
County of Fauquier and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John Freeman
Sr. as attorney in fact for Nathaniel Freeman above named in consideration of the sum of fifty
dollars lawfull money of Virginia to have in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged. Have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell under the
said Power of Attorney unto the said William C. Freeman his heirs and assigns all and every
part of his interest the said Nathaniel as one of the legal repetitive of James Freeman Decd.
With all and singular the houses buldings profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the same
belonging or appertaining or known as part parcel or member thereof. To have and to hold the
said interest in land hereby conveyed with the hereditanents and all and singular other the
premises therein before mentioned or indented to be bargained and sold and every part and
parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said land to interest hereby conveyed with the
hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to
be bargained and sold and any part and parcel thereof with every of their rights members and
appurtenances onto the said William C. Freeman his heirs and assigns forever. And the said
John Freeman is attorney for Nathaniel Freeman for the said Nathaniel and his heirs the said
interest in land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mention unto the
said William C. Freeman his heirs and assigns and free from the claim Or claims of the said
Nathaniel Freeman and of each and every person or persons whatsoever shall well and do
warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this day and year first above written.

At a court held for the county of Fauquier the 26th day of January 1818.
This indenture of bargain and sale from John Freeman to William C. Freeman was produced
to the court and proved by the oath of William Read Z. R. English two subscribing witnesses
thereto and ordered to be satisfied. And at court held for the County of Fauquier the 2nd day
of February 1820 this deed was produced to the court and fully proven by the oath of Daniel
Ward another subscribing witness thereto an ordered to be recorded.
