This Indenture made the Fifteenth day of May 1775 Between Robert Freeman Jr. and Anna his
wife of the county of Fauquier of one part and William Haney of County of Culpeper
Witnesseth that said Robert Freeman and Anna his wife for the sum of Twenty Seven pounds
Four Shillings and one penny current money of Virginia have granted unto William Haney and
his heirs a parcel of land whereon said Haney now lives as also including the Plantation whereon
Robert Freeman the elder now lives in County of Culpeper and in the Little Fork of the
Rappahannock River bounded as followeth BEGININGat the mouth of Dowdy's Branch a
corner of DAVIS's lott thence up the branch to a red oak at the head thereof on the
FALMOUTH ROAD thence along the said road to a white oak in KNOX's line thence with the
said Knox's and PETER BOWMER's lines to a white oak near the head of George's Branch a
corner to FRANCIS MORGAN thence down the several courses of said Branch to the Mill run
and down the same to the Beginning supposed to contain one hundred acres……

first privily examined & ordered to be recorded.
