This Deed From Mankin, McFarland To Garrett Freeman 1851

This Deed, Made the 22 day of October, in the tear of our Lord, One thousand, Eight Hundred
and Fifty One, between Lewis F. Mankin, and Fanny his wife, and James A. McFarland, all of
the county of Loudoun and State of Virginia, of one part, and Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W.
Freeman and Sophia M. Freeman, of the county and state aforesaid, of the other part, witnessed,
that for, and in consideration of the sum of Twelve Hundred and Sixty Dollars, to them the said
Mankin and McFarland, in hand paid, at the time of sealing and delivery of these present, the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part, by these present doth
grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, all their estate, rights, title
and interest in and to a certain tract of land lately lying in the said County of Loudoun, being a
part of the tract of land lately purchased by said Mankin and McFarland from the heirs of
Nathaniel C. Freeman, and bounds as follows: Beginning at a black oak stump, with a large
sprout, pointer, now make a corner to this tract, and to A. D. Lee, in a line of said Lee, and
running thence with said line S 43 E102 36 poles to a stone now planted, a corner to this tract,
and the said Mankin & McFarland: then S 22 ¾. W.187 72 poles to a stone, now planted, near a
Hickory pointer, a corner to the same, in a line of Lewis: then N45 W170. 62 poles to a stone on
the east side of a black oak in a lane, a corner to Lewis; then with another of his lines N. 22 ¼ E.
141 ½ poles to a pile of stones on the east side of a black oak pointer, a corner to Lewis and
Iden, and to Lees purchase: the with Lee, S. 87 E.69. 4 poles to the Beginning, Containing One
Hundred and Eighty acres of land , be the same more or less; Together also with all and singular
the rights, members, liberties, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise
appertaining. The Have and to hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances, unto the only
proper use, benefit and behoof of them, the said Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W. Freeman and
Sophia M. Freeman, their heirs and assigns forever.
And the said Lewis F. Mankin and Fanny his wife, and James A. McFarland, for themselves,
their heirs, and for every of them, do by these presents, covenant and agree to warrant and
forever defend the premises hereby conveyed, unto the said Garrett C. Freeman, Jane W.
Freeman and Sophia M. Freeman, their heirs and assigns forever, free from the claims of them
the said Lewis F. Mankin and Fanny his wife, and James A. McFarland, their heirs and free from
all other titles and incumbrances whatsoever.

have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day above written.
